Week 9

Food baskets were the project of the day. Thanks to all Friends Project participants who brought food to various activities over the last few weeks. We were able to make 14 food baskets plus have lots left over for Cornucopia Food Pantry. The project was a huge success. Wildcat Friends worked with students from Thomas Schools Community Leadership Program. Boxes were decorated, cards were made and various food was put into the boxes.

Week 8

Week 8 was filled with dancing, laughing and some acting. After a delicious dinner at Holloway Commons, everyone took a short bus ride to the Gables, which is student housing, where we had a good space for a dance class. Kerry, a UNH student who has been going to Friends Project programs for over a year, led us through some great dance moves. Everyone had a super fun time.

After dance class it was off to class. Class was a fun combination of learning about poetry and basketball. We had some poetry readings with a bit of acting to go with them. Then some poetry writing.

Next Wildcat Friends meeting is on November 18th when we will be working with the TSAS Community Leadership Program to put together food baskets with the food items we have been collecting.

Wildcat Friends Week 7

The rainy weather did not dampen the festive mood of Wildcat Friends participants. We started the day with a Halloween dinner at Holloway Commons. Many of the staff were dressed in costumes. Then a soggy, but quick walk over to Alexander Hall for a great Halloween party. Thanks to Beth and the students for putting on a great party. Everyone danced, ate donuts off a string and made Halloween cards. Before we knew it, it was time to go to class. Class was about making predications and outcomes. The students did some fun science projects including predicting density using eggs, creating tops to predict what size works best and altering the consistency of cabbage water.
